Fix a Flat Tire and be on Your Way
Are you traveling by road to your vacation destination? What if you get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere? Having a good auto club membership really helps because they will come out and fix the flat, or other minor auto-related things like running out of gas. You can also get route maps and general information about your destination from them, before you leave. If you are in a foreign country then it can be a little more difficult. No doubt you have rented a car, so calling up the company will take care of any mechanical problems. If the problem is minor then seeking local help usually works out. Even if you don't know the language, most people recognize a flat tire when they see one and you can ask them where to get it fixed. If you run out of gas then the same thing will apply -- if you are friendly and smile, then a local person may even take you to a gas station (or petrol, whichever the case may be). If you are very handy, then finding an auto parts store could also be pretty easy. Just ask a local pub or shopkeeper, as they usually know where everything is. Be safe while you wait for, or are waiting to go somewhere, as you stand aside from your vehicle. If it's in a foreign country, then you probably won't be familiar with the local driving regulations.
