Cruises -- Bilges or Upper Deck?
People used to emigrate from one country to another, on board ships. Before the advent of the modern airline travel era, ships were the only way to get a few, or a lot of people, from one place to another over water. For today's vacation traveler the choices are practically endless. They can range from a last minute bargain fare with no window in your cabin to one of those live aboard apartment ships that continuously circle the world and bring foreign lands to the residents who live on board. Most people use the middle ground. Ships these days are spectacular. They have food courts, rock climbing walls, many pools, theatres, atriums, cinemas -- cruise lines also offer specialty cruises. You can travel with your favorite celebrity, learn how to grow bonsai, listen in on a musician's concerts -- all sorts of things. So, along with getting to your destinations you can enjoy shipboard life as well.
