Big Ben, Crumpets and Aebleskivers
European countries are a diverse group, and a lot of them have been around for a very long time. In the past history of Europe, people were on the move a lot. There were the Ancient Romans and their gorgeous country of Italy. They liked to travel, but often, the people they visited did not welcome them. Today, the many cultures and people of European countries will welcome you. Europe can be divided into a few specific areas. Great Britain holds England, Ireland (but not Northern Ireland (Eire), Wales and Scotland. There's Eastern Europe, home to a lot of formerly Soviet countries. Western Europe abuts the North Atlantic or the North Sea, and there's also Scandinavia, home to Denmark (aebelskivers are fried dough balls), Norway, Finland, and Sweden. Southern Europe lies close to the Mediterranean sea, which has a separate climate zone. Along these shores you'll find Greece, Spain, France, and Monaco. Central Europe has Germany and Austria and Switzerland, home of the evergreen forests and beautiful snow-capped mountains. A visit to England, winding your way through old English villages which have been around for a thousand years or more, is a great way to relax. One town has a pub that's built into part of a limestone cliff, and it's been there since 1150 AD.
