Maps -- the No Electricity Needed Solution

Maps? Who needs them? You do, for one. There's a great deal to be said about buying a couple of the local maps. What if your GPS system or cell phone dies? You could get really lost. Because you can unfold your map and refold it as many times as you like, it never hurts to buy an overview map of the place you are visiting, then a few more detailed ones. You can still have a map system on your smart phone, but hard copy backup never hurts. Some maps are sold at airports but you never know. It's best to get yourself a few maps before you go. You can buy maps online or in a store or at an auto club. Maps may take some interpretation as often the symbols on them vary. You don't want to end up in a park, when you were looking for the Eiffel Tower, for instance. Of course, the Eiffel Tower is in its own park so that could work out!
